CALL TO ACTION – ‘Size & Health of the UK Space Industry 2023’ survey
www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/sizeandhealth23/

Dear colleagues,

The Government’s National Space Strategy aims to unlock growth, position the UK as a science superpower, build international collaboration, and increase resiliency across the sector. As the global space sector and wider economy change, the UK space sector is evolving to stay ahead. The Government remains committed to supporting the development of a strong, secure, and innovative space sector. Evidence from stakeholders is crucial to inform and direct this support.

The Size & Health of the UK Space Industry is the primary source of evidence that we use to track growth in the sector, identify constraints, and make the case to the Government for funding. We have selected London Economics to carry out the 2023 and 2024 studies on our behalf.

I am writing to encourage you to participate in the 2023 survey, which we are launching today.

The collective well-being of all UK space sector organisations hinges on the evidence you provide. This survey is your opportunity to contribute to your sector’s future, ensuring it remains at the forefront of global innovation and exploration.

Even approximate information or a partial response would still be useful. Survey respondents will receive an Excel file with the Summary Report table and chart data. All information provided will be treated in the strictest confidence, and only aggregate anonymised information will be published. We intend to publish the study in early 2024.

If you have any queries about the survey please contact Tom Goulding at London Economics or Alex Leudar at the UK Space Agency.

We would greatly appreciate your support.

Yours sincerely,

Dr Paul Bate
