Pietro Patrignani is a Principal Consultant at London Economics with a focus on applied economics and quantitative methods. He holds undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in economics from the University of Rome and University College London.

Pietro has extensive experience with both individual and firm level datasets in the UK and has worked on a variety of projects in the education, labour market and social care arenas. He was lead researcher in various projects using the Longitudinal Education Outcomes, which combines education data sources (NPD, ILR and HESA) and information from the HMRC and DWP on earnings, employment and benefits.

Pietro also has a deep knowledge of UK firm level datasets, having worked with the IDBR, the Annual Respondents Database (ARDx), other ONS’ surveys and DfE surveys of employers (Employer Skills Survey and Employer Perspective Survey) and is currently leading the evaluation of the Apprenticeship Levy on businesses.

He is an Approved Researcher with the ONS.
