Sophie is an Economic Consultant, working mainly within the Education and Labour Markets team. She is comfortable with a range of econometric techniques and the use of statistical software such as Stata. She is also experienced in working with various UK and EU datasets, from survey data such as the Employer Skills Survey (ESS) and the Labour Force Survey (LFS) to large-scale administrative datasets such as the newly available Longitudinal Education Outcomes (LEO) dataset comprising the National Pupil Database (NPD), the Individualised Learner Record (ILR), the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) and the Work and Pensions Longitudinal Study (WPLS).
Sophie holds both MSc and BSc degrees in Economics from the University of Sussex, where she specialised mainly in microeconomics with a particular application in labour economics. At London Economics she is involved in all aspects of project work, both client-facing and desk-based. This includes proposal writing and methodological design, data collection, processing and analysis and report writing and presentations.
