Rhys is an Economic Consultant at London Economics working on a wide range of topics with an interest in Competition Policy, Education and Climate Change. His role at LE comprises qualitative and quantitative research involving data collection and manipulation, statistical and econometric modelling in Stata and Excel, as well as the preparation of literature reviews and desk-based background information gathering. Rhys holds a B.A. (Hons) in Economics as well as an M.Phil. in Economics, both from the University of Cambridge, in addition to a Postgraduate Certificate in Econometrics (Birkbeck College, University of London).
At LE, Rhys has been involved in a number of projects in the Education and Competition teams, as well as work in other sectors. He has worked on projects assessing the socioeconomic benefits of a university’s activities in China; evaluating competition aspects of a telephone merger, reported on a large-scale survey of exporting firms; evaluating vertical restraints and developing an impact assessment for the contribution of High Performance Computing to the UK economy. Currently he is working on a project assessing the competition effects of regulation in the professional business services across Europe.
