Farooq Sabri is a Divisional Director at London Economics and leads the Space Team’s work for private sector clients and UK Government. Farooq in an experienced satellite and space applications consultant with over ten years’ experience in managing market sizing, business case, economic modelling, and asset valuation studies for a range of government and private sector clients in the UK, Europe, US, and Asia.
Farooq has delivered projects across all satellite assets and across the value-chain, with particular expertise in satellite communications; Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT), and Earth Observation.
Farooq is a trained economist and has previously delivered economic analysis projects for government, academia, consultancy and the third sector in his roles at the UK Space Agency (secondment and contract), New Philanthropy Capital, the Behavioural Insights Team (Cabinet Office, UK Government) and Long-Run Economics.
In July 2019, Farooq was a joint-recipient of First Prize for the IPPR’s inaugural Economics Prize, the third biggest economics prize after Nobel and Wolfson, for his team’s work on ‘Decentralising Britain’ to end the UK’s stagnation and deliver more inclusive prosperity.
