Birce Akay is an Economic Consultant at London Economics with interests in public policy, labour markets, international trade, and the economics of climate change.

She holds a BSc in Mathematics and Economics from the London School of Economics and an MPhil in Economics from the University of Oxford. During her master’s, she worked as a Research Assistant to Professor Sophocles Mavroeidis.

Prior to joining London Economics, she worked at the United Nations Trade & Development (UNCTAD), where she co-authored a research paper on the economic impact of climate-related disasters and corresponding policy recommendations. She also conducted stakeholder consultations to support SME integration into regional value chains and applied machine learning to text analysis of economic reports.
