Ashley Sofocleous is an Economic Consultant at London Economics and a full-time member of the Space Team.

At London Economics, Ashley combines his technical and strategic expertise to advise satellite operators, investors, and space agencies on the value of current and future investments in the space sector. He is a fully accredited Chartered Accountant, having earned his ACA qualification from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) in 2021. Following this, Ashley worked in the corporate finance team at Crowe UK in London, where he provided capital market and M&A transaction support to a wide range of domestic and international clients, across multiple sectors, including life sciences, technology, mining and energy.

Earlier in his career, Ashley gained experience at the Satellite Applications Catapult through the Space Placements in Industry (SPIN) scheme, creating a crowdsourcing application designed to help classify Earth Observation data from European Space Agency satellites. Since joining London Economics, he has collaborated extensively with leading satellite communications providers to assess the value proposition of integrating additional service offerings into next-generation advanced satellites. Additionally, he has further strengthened his expertise in Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) solutions. He holds master’s degrees in Physics from the University of Nottingham and Space Science and Engineering from University College London (UCL), where he was awarded Best Overall Performance on the Space Science Pathway.
